Destination Wedding

I was surfing the net when I came across this amazing wedding destination place called Tirtha Bridal in Bali.

The place has two venues, Tirtha Uluwatu which is set on the southern cliffs of Bali with a magnificent view of the Indian Ocean. This is where the famous glass chapel is located on an infinity pool which overlook the cliff towards the Indian Ocean. Magical isn't it?

The other venue would be Tirtha Luhur which is located at the Sourthern-most point of the Bali island. This is the most expensive package whereby your ceremony will be by the spectacular cliff-side pavillion at the two-tiered infinity edged pool. You would also be given a nights' stay at their luxurious bridal suite.

Both the package starts from USD$4,500 up to USD$6,500 (not inclusive of dinner). It includes everything you need; from paige boys to flower girls, from decorations to music, from your bridal gown, make-up and tuxedo to your flower bouquet, from photography to videopgraphy. All you need to do is just pack yourself and your husband to Tirtha Bridal and everything will be prepared for. How do I know? I asked for their quotes before. :)

How I wish that I can have a small and intimate destination wedding.
Sigh ... :(

Movies Galore!

I just come to realised that it has been so long since I've last watched a movie with Bear. I don't even remember what show was the last one which we watched. It has been so long, I forgot how popcorn smells like, how surround sound sounds like, how big screens looks like, how theather cushion seats felt like. (Is that good enough a hint? :p)

So I texted Bear manja~ly and asked :
"Baby it's been so long since we've last pak tor. Let's go movies ok?"
"What show you wanna watch?"
"Shutter Island"
-end-

-.-"

No conclusion also. :(
Plan failed miserably. :( :( :(
Is this what 7-years of relationship can do to you? 0_o"

So I also a bit TL (read: tu lan) and texted him today and said I will book for a movie in Tropicana City for tomorrow. He has yet to reply. -.-" Good also, I can drop by one of the printing shop there to see their sample and ask for quotation to compare prices for our wedding invites. Oh.. diverting a bit, I found out that one of my church member is also doing designing on a freelance basis, gonna get her quotes and ask her to help as well. I am SO bless!! :)

Some of the shows that I intend to watch are:

And here is the second trailer of Eclipse. Heart topless boys men *swoon* !!!

My 30 minutes blog post

This morning I woke up at 7:45am, which means I was late for work. Lied Was stuck in a traffic jam along Jalan Maarof. Apparently, some road in Brickfields/KL Sentral is closed for an indefinite time. -.-"

Despite me being late, I still spend some time putting on my make-up before heading to work. :)

In my hastiness, I PK~ed (read: Pok Kai~ed aka slipped and fell) in front of the office. My pedicure chipped off, so did the skin on my toes. And I was saving my pedicure for my aunt's wedding tomorrow ok!! Sigh ... Luckily no one saw. Not so embarrassing after all since I was already late for work and most of the crowd was already at their desk working. Hehehehe...

Strolled Walked into the office at 8:45am. My colleague aka next-door-neighbor who is perpetually late was even earlier than me today. 0_o" *paiseh*

In my craving for cupcakes, I went to Curve for lunch and got TWO BOXES of delicious cupcakes to bribe my Boss bless my colleagues as well.

That two boxes cost me RM30 over bucks. T_T

Found out today that men do have mood swings too. Found out the hard way. Was a bit tu lan though. Oh well.. whatever ...

Found out that Bear has his own boys' thingy today, so I called my back-up plan my Dad and I had dinner with my family instead. Followed by teh tarik. Mmmm..

Dad found out that I am using treating him as a back-up plan and casually reprimanded me for it. :p

After this, I am gonna laze on the couch clutching my bantal busuk, sipping on my hot coffee, and watch my TVB Chinese Drama.

Oh.. before that, I will try and save my pedicure first (try to cover the patches with whatever similar colors I can lay my hands on). Hopefully it won't look too ugly! -.-"

Perfect Friday, yes?

A Very Tiring Affair

After one week from the photoshoot, we finally went back to Red Bliss to choose our pre-wedding pictures. I have been waiting excitedly for one week just to view them! So kan cheong ok .. was so worried that my pictures will turn out ugly, me squinting, my lazy eyes will be prominent, me hunching etc etc. Those who knows me knows that I am not photogenic I am prettier in real and I almost always take bad pictures.

Our folder FULL of pictures!

The process is rather simple, all the raw pictures will be uploaded to the PC for you to select. In total, we had about 300+ photos to narrow down to 85 poses!! Of course, this is purely a business strategy, the more pictures they take, the higher chances of their customers picking out more, and hence more $$ will have to be used to top up. Come to think of it, I guess the shortened outdoor session in FRIM (due to the rain) could be a blessing in disguise. We could have ended topping up more for the pictures!

Couple portrait.
Thanks Angie for loaning me the jersey *heart*

Kua portrait

I am very happy that all of the photos turned out great!! It was beyond what we had expected. Which means this is where the headache starts. For our package, we are entitled to 55 wedding poses, 10 MV poses, and 20 couple poses. Choosing the MV and couple poses were relatively simple. Choosing the wedding poses on the other hand was really a pain in the ass.

MV - behind the scenes being made up :)

Evening gown #1. Yes I know I am squinting a bit.
And no we didn't choose this picture

And so we began at 12:30pm and started eliminating - the first round was relatively fast. We narrowed down the photos to about 100+ in 45 minutes. Then came the tough part. Alice (the owner of Red Bliss) helped us to re-arranged the photos in a series, meaning like a storyboard so it would be easier for us to further eliminate. Both me and Bear know that we don't intend to add any more poses because it will cost RM70 per additional pose! Ridiculously pricey! We had to be brutal, so we had no choice but to let go those which we liked as well. *proud*

Piano Series - So heart this!

In FRIM

We stayed there until 7:30pm and STILL didn't manage to finish the photo selection process i.e. choosing the albums, frames etc. We were already very tired and I didn't want to rush through the entire process because we had paid so much so I intend to take my time and make sure everything is in order.

Evening gown #2 ..
uhh.. is that my muscle arms???

Sigh.. I guess we will be making another trip back there next week to finalize everything. And I shall end this post with this picture below. There was a couple who was doing their photoshoot there as well. The Groom was trying to pick the Bride up for this pose - he tried and couldn't cos the Bride was heavy. Ended up looking like this :-

Moral of the story:
Either you get a bigger size husband, like Bear who lifted me up effortlessly or for goodness sake, do your photoshoot on a weekday when there is not much people around!!!

untitled

I broke off my engagement. It was a long and hard decision to be made. As much as I could, I wanted to salvage the relationship - but I just couldn't. It would be unfair to him as well as for me. Deep down, I knew what I am doing is wrong. And people would judge me for that. But why force myself to continue in a relationship when I know that I already have someone else in my mind? I couldn't help it .. things just happened. The person works in the same organisation as me. Neither one of us expected things to turn out this way. I tried avoiding him but somehow I always end up drawing closer to him.

It is an emotional turmoil. Really it is. Calling it off was not easy, and it is even more so for the person at the receiving end. I know. I am really.. really sorry that I hurt those closest to me.

And then ... I woke up from my dream. -___-"
What the hell was that wei???? What a weird dream!!!

The person whom I scandaled with is non other than my CEO ???!!?!! (not the one currently in my office ya ... later you think I am like Amber Chia). By the way, my 'CEO' is not married yet so I am not the mistress ok! I was working on a project with my 'CEO' and had to stay back late in the office for quite a number of times (typical scenario) and feelings started to developed.

Ok.. let me describe how my 'CEO' looks like. He looks like a chinese version of Richard Gere *sizzling*. He is around late 30s-40 years old (I so dig old men!!), tan (I dig tan men too!!!), has a little bit of grey hair, tall, has broad shoulders, square jaws, and a fairly nice body. Not only that, he is authoritative but yet gentle at the same time, and he is cool but yet caring. Oh .. and he wears a jacket most of the time. *wink*

I know la ... very fictional, in this world no such perfect person exists. Only in dreams. :) Here is the profile picture of how he would look like:

Conclusion is, I think I am either:
a) Getting crazy
b) Experiencing pre-wedding blues
c) Stresed-out
d) Lack of quality sleep
e) Too much of TVB drama

I think it is the lack of sleep. :p
Today is F.R.I.D.A.Y !!!!!

Wedding Invites

In case if you are wondering why have I stopped updating my blog and Facebook~ing, I am extremely busy watching my TVB Chinese Series. Past few days, I was sitting at home feeling bored, so I took one series (from the stacks of pirated Chinese DVDs that Mum had bought previously and still is buying) and started watching. Bad move! I couldn't stop and almost every night I am sleeping at 1:00 am! -__-"

Current TVB craze : Emergency Unit ("E.U") - so many dashing hot old actors
(I am a sucker for mature-looking actors in jackets ahem!),
the actresses sucks though.

Back to the preparation, we are now working on the dreaded guest list and we are having such a headache doing it!! Should we call this person? Church event only? Or both events? Can we accomodate so many people? What about the costing? I have been inserting names, striking out names, and re-inserting names again. It is so tiring and troublesome! At times like this, I wish I had a wedding planner. :(

And we have not even gone to sorting out the name list in Excel, the table arrangement, the RSVPs, and the actual day coordination yet!!! *pengsan*

I am still waiting for Bear to revert with the finalised guest list as he may still want to include some more names before I pass it to my parents to include theirs as well. Wonder why Bear is taking so long?

Initially for the wedding invites, I didn't want to spend more than RM2.00 cos people will end up thowing them away. So, I spent a lot of time sourcing and asking around for cheap invites. Ultimately, LH Creative Concept located in Pudu was the place to go. But, the designs are like your stereotype of mass-produced cards. In other words, so ugly! :(

Keeping in mind that I STILL don't intend to over-spend on the invites, I sourced for more alternatives and ended up in Sunflower Paper Passion & Things located in Ikano. Me and Bear dropped by there and no doubt the designs were much better.

Problem is that, the nicer the designs, the more expensive it is! An empty card costs from RM2.00 onwards. Printing would be additional RM100 per block. All in all, for a simple design like the one below, the quote would come up to RM3.30 per card, which is not too bad we reckoned. A tad too simple for my liking though. :(

One day, as we were walking around Tropicana City Mall - I asked Bear to teman me to Storybo*k. I had always been curios about this shop as it looks so pretty from outside. And voila I saw that they print invites as well. The invites were so pretty, contemporary, clean, and sweet ok! Having no expectations at all (I was almost certain that the cards would be expensive), we proceeded to ask the owner, Enya on the quotes. Turns out the cards starts from RM2.20 - RM10.00. The pricing is tiered and discount is given in accordance to the volume. Best of all, ALL of the cards are custom-designed (i.e. no other couple can have the same design as yours), designed in accordance to your theme, and the pricing INCLUDES printing as well. You can print as much stuff and insert as much pictures as you want at no additional costs! Of course, if you want to further enhance the cards by decorating it with ribbons (RM1.80/piece) or crystals (RM0.80/piece), then there would be additional costs incurred.

I am SO excited!!!! So, right now we have shortlisted Sunflower and Storybo*k. Honestly, I am skewed more towards Storybo*k. We shall ask for further details once the guest list is more or less finalised to ascertain the number of cards needed and the final costing.

My photoshoot experience

Heart my makeup

My photoshoot yesterday with Red Bliss was superbly fun and I would do it all over again if given a choice! The team assigned to me was so pleasant to work with. Wilson the photographer was so accommodating and funny, KT the videographer (although we didn't talk much) was also very patient with us. Best of all, Beeky the MUA was an extremely nice and caring girl. She not only worked her magic on me, she helped wiped the sweat off Bear's face, she helped carried our belonging, and she has such a gentle demure. If I haven't engaged in my AD MUA, I would've gotten her instead. For sure.

Make-up station

Bear was more excited than me that he went shopping in Jusco and got himself a brand new pair of Hush Puppies shoes, belt, and white undies. He packed two bags of stuff for the photoshoot - so much so that me and his Dad were questioning him why the need to pack so much! Prior to that, I had already done my dental scaling and manicure/pedicure. On the other hand, I only packed a small bag containing of the props, face towel, and two sets of casual wear. We also bought some bread in case we were hungry halfway through the photoshoot - which proved to be a darn good idea. We only slept at 1:00am that night.

Accessories for the hair

The day started when we woke up at 5:15 am, got dressed, and I had a quick breakfast of cup noodles and Bear made himself a cup of hot tea. I made myself a hot coffee and packed it in a thermos mug to bring it along to RB. Reached RB at 6:30am and Beeky and Jojo greeted us. Beeky directed us to a house nearby, intended for our indoor photoshoot. For those who don't know, RB bought a house for indoor photoshoot - the location was newly opened 2 weeks ago. The change of location is a good move as it provides more background/scenery and it is more spacious. Plus point, the entire house is AIR-CONDITIONED! Woohooo ~

Changing room

Beeky quickly started to do make-up for me. It was AMAZING - the overall look was so natural and I totally LOVED it to bits!! I told her I don't want tiaras cos it looks cheesy and my hairdo was perfect!!! When I was halfway done, Wilson came in with KT to take some shots. After I was done, it was Bear's turn. He looked so dashingly hot ok!! Beeky allowed some imperfection in Bear's complexion cos it makes him him. We both don't want to loo like an artificial Barbie Doll & Ken in the photos. *swoooonn*

Bear getting made up

Sizzling HOT!!

While Beeky was doing my make-up, I kay~poh around a bit. There were a total of 3 couples (including us) who was suppose to go for shooting that day. Couple #1 was heading to Port Dickson and the photographer (Paul) assigned to them was not-so friendly (at least that's what I thought), thank God we didn't get him. Oh, and the bride wore such a low-cut gown (half of her boobs was hanging out) I found it so amusing :). Couple #2 was suppose to do indoor shoot only. The bride dah lah came in late, some more threw tantrums ... memang crazy. Their photographer (Apple) is good/funny/friendly. If I am not mistaken, she is a Taiwanese. Based on my observation, I think my team from RB is the most power-packed! Woots~

Wardrobe full of clothes

About 7:45am we proceeded with our casual shoot - the theme was sporty. We had so much of fun!! A lot of jumping, clowning around, and climbing!! We were laughing so loud ok! I guess it was good warm up for us before the actual wedding shoot.

My first time wearing a jersey

Then, we changed to the indoor wedding gown and Bear had to wear full white. He looked damn gay ok!! Hahahahahaaha ... Took a few shots in the house, then we walked over to their shop for more indoor shoots - i.e. with the piano, on the laminated flooring etc. Yes.. we WALKED! Crossed the road, passed the mamak stalls, and passed New Paris Restaurant. :p Then back to the house where I had to stand on Yellow Pages cos I was too short Bear was too tall. And we used REAL flowers!

Take your pick.
You can either stand on the Accounting text book or Yellow Pages

Thereafter, I changed to my light blue chiffon evening gown and Bear changed into a black suit. Took more serious shots. We took a little bit around the compound of the house as well. By now, me and Bear were tired from smiling and posing already. Wilson kept on telling me not to hunch, not to smile too wide to avoid showing my shark gums, and remember to chin up. For this shoot, we did a lot of dancing moves. -.-"

Chin up! Don't look down!!!

At about 11:30pm, it was time for lunch. Bear ran across to the mamak and tapau~ed fried rice for me. By then, I was really famished. He bought a bottle of Coke for Beeky too. Once done, Beeky quickly touch up my make-up and restyle my hair and I changed into my two-tone pink/purple evening gown. We proceeded to shoot at the lawn of the house and I just couldn't help but squint (Angie help!!)! It was glaring and I have no idea why is my eyes so sensitive. Wilson and KT was so accommodating that they actually transported two huge-ass styrofoam from the house to block the sunlight! Then, we went back inside and Wilson took loads of portrait shots. We had to pose by the stairs and I had to lie down provocatively on the sofa chair.

Another evening gown

Wilson : "You put both of your elbow on the railing"
Geri : "Ok.. like this?"
Wilson : *after pondering* "Er .. never mind, put it back down again"

Fake blings

Apparently, my boobs was too big.

-____________-"

Big meh?

By 2:30pm, I changed again to my Chinese Kua. I was telling Beeky that it was really tiring already and I wonder why some brides will die-die also want to fight for a lot of gowns for the photoshoot. How to tahan so many change wor??

Love how pretty I look in a Chinese Kua

Pretty makeup makes me happy :)

At about 3:30pm, Wilson hurried us for the outdoor shoot in FRIM as it was threatening to rain. Beeky quickly assisted me to change into my outdoor wedding gown. And guess what, it couldn't fit me! She apologized profusely and rushed to RB to get it altered for me ASAP.

Hairdo for outdoor photoshoot

While waiting for her, Bear slept like a log.

Yes.. he was really tired

And I was amused!

And to entertain myself, I went round the house to spy take some pictures of their studio set-up.

Around 4:30pm, we rushed off to FRIM and took some really nice shots (I hope). We had no choice but to quickly take the 'must-have' spots first. By the time we reached the waterfalls, it was already drizzling. Nevertheless, we continued taking. It was a really wet affair!! I had to lie down on the rocks! Then, it started pouring! We made a dash for the car! Wilson said not to worry cos we covered the 'core spots', just that some of the actions that he had in mind was not used. :( A bit sayang lo.

Simple outdoor wedding gown

Then, we drove to church (and I slept all the way) to take our MTV Love Story. Then back to the studio for more recording. The day ended at 7:30pm at the mamak near RB for another recording. It was really tiring. I slept at 10:30pm that night.

Tired but very happy :)

We had scheduled to view the photos next Saturday, 17 April. We had loads of fun, no doubt about that. Hopefully the pictures will turn out great! *fingers cross*
